Rahu Grah Shanti Puja

Rahu Graha Shanti Puja is an important ritual rooted in Hindu religious traditions and Vedic astrology. Rahu is regarded as a shadow planet associated in astrological interpretations with ambition, confusion, sudden developments, and uncertain circumstances.

Astrologers may recommend traditional planetary pacification rituals after examining Rahu's placement in a birth chart, its relationship with other planets, and its Mahadasha or Antardasha periods.

When Rahu is considered unfavorable in a horoscope, a person may interpret experiences such as uncertainty, difficulty making decisions, professional obstacles, or instability through an astrological perspective. In such circumstances, Rahu Graha Shanti Puja is performed with faith and devotion. Its religious purpose is to seek relief from adverse planetary influences and pray for peace, balance, and positive development in life.

Main Deities & Religious Importance

The principal deity of this ritual is Rahu Dev, one of the nine planetary deities in Hindu astrology. Traditional Rahu pacification rituals may include specific mantras, worship, and Havan, depending on the prescribed procedure.

The following deities may be worshipped during the ritual:

Rahu Dev

According to Hindu beliefs, worshipping Rahu Dev is associated with prayers for planetary harmony, discernment, and inner strength. Lord Shiva is worshipped for spiritual peace, while Lord Hanuman represents courage, devotion, and perseverance.

Muhurat / When should this Puja be performed?

On Saturdays, according to the guidance of an experienced astrologer.
During Rahu Kaal, when following a tradition that prescribes worship during this period and as advised by the performing Acharya.
During Rahu Mahadasha or Antardasha, when recommended after astrological assessment.
During challenging Rahu transits.
On an auspicious date selected after examining the birth chart and local Hindu calendar.
When undertaking a specific religious Sankalp for planetary peace and spiritual well-being.

The appropriate timing should be determined according to the birth chart, the local Hindu calendar, and the guidance of an experienced astrologer. Rahu's placement in the sixth, eighth, or twelfth house does not automatically mean that every individual must perform this puja.

When experiencing confusion or difficulty making decisions.
When facing recurring professional or business obstacles.
